St Joseph Altar

March 19, 2017
The St. Joseph Altar Tradition and Description
The tradition of the St. Joseph Altar began in Sicily many years ago as a means of showing gratitude to the foster father of Jesus for deliverance from a severe famine.
The Altar became an annual celebration in the homes of many Sicilian families, and was brought to the Hill by immigrants from the region.
It has since been turned into a parish event with participation from not only the descendants of the original Sicilian and Lombard immigrants, but anyone of any heritage who loves St. Joseph and the values he embodies.
This is an inclusive and family friendly celebration.
Please join the festivities and bring your children.
Everyone is welcome!!
